Nighttime Funtivities

Hello again fellow Hoos! It’s really great to explore the outdoors and all, but
sometimes you need to hang out somewhere with food, seating, and AIR CONDITIONING.
C’ville has infinite restaurants (check out last week’s blogs for more information on those!),
and restaurants here will frequently host fantastic events for everyone to attend. Some of my

favorites are trivia nights and karaoke nights at popular spots around town, and especially

on the Corner, within walking distance of most UVa Off-Grounds housing and all of our

On-Grounds housing. These are some of our favorite events!

Karaoke

Who doesn’t love karaoke? It’s a great way to hang out with friends, bond with your new

roommates, and just have a fun night in the summer. You could do karaoke at home, OR

you could show off your singing chops at one of these great events below!

Asado, a restaurant on the UVa Corner, hosts their karaoke nights on Wednesdays. Their

prime location on the Corner makes them easy to get to, and they serve really great food

all night (chips and queso AND fries? Yes please). Their restaurant is two floors, so you

can even participate in the karaoke and then head to another floor if you’re done with the

singing portion of your night, and just relax with your friends. 

Our neighborhood Pizza Hut - via Yelp!

Pizza Hut hosts it’s karaoke night on Thursdays. It may seem like a weird location for a

popular karaoke night, but it’s actually one of the most popular among students! Their

incredibly extensive song book lists everything from ABBA to Green Day, and there’s

a song for everyone in their many binders. There are regulars who come almost every

week to rock their karaoke skills, and it’s a lot of fun to sing and goof off with your friends,

and get to see people who are really talented perform. Their located on W. Main Street just

a little past the Corner, which is fantastic. 

Trivia

I LOVE TRIVIA. Trivia is one of the most fun events that places around here host, and they

offer prizes too! These are a couple of really great events right on the Corner. 

Crozet Pizza Exterior - via crozetpizzacville.com. 

Crozet Pizza, the popular pizza place right on the Corner, hosts a fantastic trivia night every 

Tuesday. Most of their nights are generic trivia, but they’ll often have a great theme like The

Office Trivia, Grey’s Anatomy Trivia, and Harry Potter Trivia. They advertise their special

events on Facebook, and they always offer great prizes. People also always think of really

great team names, and it’s a lot of fun to hear them read out before the competition starts.

Mellow Mushroom, another popular pizza spot on the Corner, hosts their trivia on Wednesdays.

This trivia is one of the most popular weekly events among students, and is always one that we

really love to go to. They’ll also have the occasional theme, but are mostly classic trivia questions.
The vibe of Mellow Mushroom (often called Mellow by students) is really relaxed and fun, so the
trivia is always a great way to just hang out with your friends in a casual setting. 

Having a lot of restaurants means that we get to go to all these really wonderful events, and

it is so much fun to get to eat out, sing some songs or play trivia, and just hang out with your

friends. It can really be a perfect summer night! Let us know if you attend one of these events
